We are currently seeking a Teller/Receptionist to join our team at our Lauderhill Branch!
The primary purpose of the Teller/Receptionist position is to assist the members of our growing community in meeting their financial needs and goals by offering them superior products and services. It is essential that the individual in this role provide outstanding service to each internal and external member as defined by our Service Standards and Promises. Additionally, this individual will represent the credit union in a professional manner when greeting members and the general public on the phone and in person, ensuring that they are directed to someone who can provide them with assistance.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Greets the public when they enter the credit union.
Accurately process all transactions related to the position (including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, money orders, traveler’s checks, official/cashier checks, coin redemption, loan disbursements, loan payments, ATM card pinning, IRA transactions, credit card advances and payments).
Welcome members and provide routine information concerning services, and direct members to appropriate department for specific service.
Assist members by promoting appropriate BrightStar Credit Union products and services.
Balance consistently and timely on a daily basis.
Assist in performing all end of day balancing for branch.
Answers phone and directs callers to the appropriate person.
Identify the financial needs of the members and suggest a product or service that will meet their needs.
Maintains assigned records, files and reports as well as assigned administrative responsibilities.
Supports overflow needs both within and outside the department, as time allows.
Participation in Saturday work rotation is required.
Knowledge and Skills:
• Six months of similar or related Teller/Receptionist experience
• High school education or GED
• Must be proficient with 10-key calculators and keyboarding
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Effective Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) is necessary.
