BrightStar Credit Union And Employees Donate
More Than $26,000 To American Red Cross 2005 National Disaster
Relief Fund
Sunrise, FL – October 28, 2005 -
BrightStar Credit Union, one of the largest credit unions in
South Florida with more than 38,000 members, has donated more
than $26,000 to the American Red Cross National Disaster Relief
Fund.
BrightStar Credit Union, along with the public,
made donations to the Red Cross through the six branch locations.
Members could also transfer a donation from their account to
the Disaster Relief Fund. BrightStar CU raised more than $11,000
for the Disaster Relief Fund. Prior to the $11,000, BrightStar
CU had raised another $5,000. The Credit Union then matched the
donation, up to $10,000, thus bringing the total amount raised
to more than $26,000.
“Here
in south Florida, we’ve all learned the importance of people helping
each other in a disaster. That’s why we feel strongly that we should
give back to others in their time of need” said Sam Chesser, Vice President
of Marketing for BrightStar Credit Union.
Members
of BrightStar CU, along with the public can continue to make
donations to the American Red Cross Hurricane 2005 Relief Fund
at any of BrightStar CU branch locations in Davie, Downtown Fort
Lauderdale, Hollywood, Lauderhill, Margate and Pembroke Pines.
