| BSCU Sponsors Electronic Field
Trips for Broward Schools
Fort Lauderdale, FL — November 1, 2004 — BSCU recently
made a financial commitment to more than 20 of Broward’s
Middle Schools by underwriting the costs of electronic field trips
to Colonial Williamsburg. The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation’s
interactive educational programs help to teach students about
America’s history.
Monthly Electronic Field Trip Topics Include:
- A soldier’s life on the eve
of the American Revolution
- Children’s life experiences
in 18th-century America
- Farm life and its tradition and seasonal
rhythms in the young United States
- The modern practice of preserving
rare animal breeds that were prevalent three centuries ago.
Sponsoring outstanding educational programs like these is one
way that BSCU demonstrates its commitment to Broward Schools.
It’s one of many ongoing programs for school employees
and students sponsored by the Credit Union. The Broward School
District is excited to be a part of the program. Dr. Mark Quintana,
Social Studies Curriculum Specialist for Broward Schools, said
“BSCU’s sponsorship is affording children an educational
enrichment opportunity that they otherwise would not have.”
