Privacy Policy and your Information: Do not send confidential or proprietary information to BrightStar Credit Union via the Mobile Banking Application, except for certain information necessary to use the Application according to the Terms and Conditions. You authorize, except as provided in BrightStar Credit Union’s Privacy Policy at bscu.org/disclosures , BrightStar Credit Union to disclose or transmit and distribute information and materials as necessary to provide Mobile Banking App functions.

WHAT DOES BRIGHTSTAR CREDIT UNION DO WITH YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

Why?
Financial companies choose how they share your personal information. Federal law gives consumers the right to limit some but not all sharing. Federal law also requires us to tell you how we collect, share, and protect your personal information. Please read this notice carefully to understand what we do.

How does BrightStar Credit Union protect my personal information?
To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings. We also maintain other physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect this information and we limit access to information to those employees for whom access is appropriate.

How does BrightStar Credit Union collect my personal information?
We collect your personal information, for example, when you
l Open an account l Pay your bills l Make deposits or withdrawals from your account l Give us your contact information l Show your driver’s license
We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus, affiliates, or other companies.

Why can’t I limit all sharing?
Federal law gives you the right to limit only l sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes – information about your
creditworthiness l affiliates from using your information to market to you l sharing for non affiliates to market to you

What happens when I limit sharing for an account I hold jointly with someone else?
Your choices will apply to everyone on your account

Camera Usage:
Mobile Banking App uses a camera as a part of the app functionality to enable features such as Mobile deposits, but only if the End User expressly authorizes the use of the camera in the app. End-Users can change their camera permissions at any time in their device settings.

Location Usage:
Mobile Banking App periodically collects, transmits, and uses geolocation information to enable features such as maps but only if the End User expressly authorizes the collection of such information. Geolocation information can be monitored on a continuous basis in the background only while the Solution is being used or not at all, depending on the End User’s selection. End-Users can change their location permissions at any time in their device settings.

Storage Usage:
Mobile Banking App uses the external storage access as a part of the app functionality to enable features such as Secure Message Attachments, but only if the End User expressly authorizes the use of the storage access in the app. End-Users can change their storage access permissions at any time in their device settings.

Contacts Usage:
Mobile Banking App uses the contacts access as a part of the app functionality to enable features such as Person to Person Payments Recipient List, but only if the End User expressly authorizes the use of the contacts access in the app. End-Users can change their contacts access permissions at any time in their device settings.

Audio Usage:
Mobile Banking App uses the access to the device’s microphone as a part of the app functionality to enable features such as Chat, but only if the End User expressly authorizes the use of the audio access in the app. End-Users can change their audio access permissions at any time in their device settings.

Phone State Usage:
Mobile Banking App uses the access to information about the user’s device for device identification as a part of the app functionality to enable features such as Anti-Malware and Anti-Phishing.

Definitions

Affiliates
Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and non-financial companies.
l BrightStar Credit Union has no affiliates.

Nonaffiliates
Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and non-financial companies.
l Nonaffiliates we share with can include Insurance Companies.

Joint Marketing
A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you. l Our joint marketing partners include Credit Card Companies and Direct Marketing Companies.

Please note: If you are a new member, we can begin sharing your information 30 days from the date we sent this notice. When you are no longer a member, we continue to share your information as described in this notice. However, you can contact us at any time to limit our sharing.

For California Members. We will not share personal information with nonaffiliates either for them to market to you or for joint marketing – without your authorization. We will also limit our sharing of personal information about you with our affiliates to comply with all California privacy laws that apply to us.

For Massachusetts, Mississippi and New Jersey Members. We will not share personal information from deposit or share relationships with nonaffiliates either for them to market to you or for joint marketing – without your authorization.

For Vermont Members. We will not share personal information with nonaffiliates either for them to market to you or for joint marketing – without your authorization, and we will not share personal information with affiliates about your creditworthiness without your authorization.
