Our Story
Rooted in education, driven by community
BrightStar was originally chartered in 1946 by 26 educators from Broward County Public Schools who believed their community deserved something better than a traditional bank. From those humble beginnings, we've grown into a strong, thriving credit union — while staying true to our educational roots.
Education continues to shape who we are. Through scholarships, school partnerships, volunteer efforts, and community outreach, we proudly support Florida educators, students, and families. Giving back isn't just something we do — it's who we are.
