Is Bill Pay really free?

Yes — Bill Pay is completely free for all BrightStar Credit Union checking account holders. There are no monthly fees, no per-payment fees, and no limits on the number of payees you can add.

How do I enroll in Bill Pay?

Log in to your Online Banking, go to Transfers & Payments in the menu, and select "Pay A Bill." First-time users will be guided through a quick enrollment process.

How fast are payments delivered?

Most electronic payments are credited to payees within 2 business days . Payments sent by check (for payees that don't accept electronic payments) may take 5–7 business days.

Can I set up recurring payments?

Yes. When scheduling a payment, choose the recurring option and select your frequency (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc.). Recurring payments continue until you cancel them or set an end date.

Can I edit or cancel a scheduled payment?

Yes — you can edit or cancel any payment that hasn't been processed yet. Go to your scheduled payments list in Bill Pay and select the payment you'd like to modify.

What are eBills and how do I sign up?

eBills are electronic billing statements delivered directly to your Bill Pay dashboard. You can view the amount due and pay without leaving Online Banking. To enroll, find a participating payee in your payee list and look for the eBill enrollment option.

Can I pay bills from the BrightStar mobile app?

Yes — Bill Pay is available through the BrightStar Credit Union mobile app. Access it the same way: go to Transfers & Payments and select "Pay A Bill."

What if a payment is sent to the wrong payee or for the wrong amount?

If the payment hasn't been processed yet, you can cancel or edit it in Bill Pay. If it has already been sent, contact us immediately at 800-637-2728 and we'll work to resolve the issue.

Do I need a checking account to use Bill Pay?

How do I add a new payee?

In Bill Pay, click "Add a Payee" and enter the company name or account number. Bill Pay will search its directory to auto-fill payment details. For payees not in the directory, you can manually enter their address and account information.

What's the difference between one-time and recurring payments?

A one-time payment is a single payment sent on a date you choose. A recurring payment automatically sends the same amount on a regular schedule (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc.) until you cancel it — perfect for fixed bills like rent or insurance.

When should I schedule my payment?

Schedule your payment at least 2 business days before the due date to ensure it arrives on time. For payees that receive checks by mail (rather than electronic payments), allow 5–7 business days.

What is Pay A Person?

Pay A Person lets you send money to anyone using their email address or mobile phone number. The recipient receives a notification and can deposit the funds into their bank account. It's a convenient way to split expenses, repay a friend, or send a gift.
