Activate Your Debit Card with These Easy Steps:

Step 1

Call 866-985-2273 (the number on your new debit card's sticker) and must set up your PIN.

Step 2

Be prepared with the primary phone number associated with your account, card information, and the last four digits of your SSN.

Step 3

Re-establish any automatic billing with merchants after you activate your new debit card.

Step 4

Add your new BSCU Visa debit card to your mobile wallet.

New Debit Card Frequently Asked Questions

You can set by calling the PIN NOW at 866-985-2273. You do not need to know your old PIN to complete the process.

If you were denied a transaction on your new debit card due to an invalid PIN number or were unable to successfully set up your PIN, please do the following:

Call 866-985-2273. You will need to provide the primary phone number associated with your account, card information, and the last four digits of your SSN. You will have 3 attempts per 24 hours to set your PIN successfully.

If you have not received your new BSCU debit card, please log into Online Banking and fill out the secure form to confirm or update the address associated with your account. BrightStar will then mail your new debit card to the most up to date address associated with your account.

You can now enjoy benefits such as contactless cards and digital issuance quickly after enhancement, and there is no need for a separate Card App. All alerts and controls will now be accessed through Online Banking.

Yes, the debit card number, expiration date, and CVV number will be different than your current debit card. Once you activate your new debit card, you can update your automatic and saved payment information.

There is no fee associated with getting your new debit card.

Yes, reward points on your Debit Rewards will roll over to the new debit card.

No, you will need to establish alerts for your new debit card. All features and functionalities of the BrightStar Card App are being moved to Online Banking; the debit card will no longer be supported in the Card App.

If your debit card is lost, stolen, or compromised, call 888-266-0464 to report it immediately.

Yes, you may need to update your payment information with online merchants. While most large merchants will automatically update the new debit card number through services like Visa Account Updater, smaller merchants may require a manual update to the new debit card number and expiration date. Therefore, it’s important for you to check and update your payment information, especially for recurring or saved payment accounts with companies like Netflix, Amazon, Apple, etc.
